Won Tae-in, the "blue blood ace" of the Samsung Lions, is a so-called big stage player. He shows off his more powerful appearance at important games such as international competitions and postseason. This was possible thanks to strict teaching from his father Won Min-koo, a former baseball team manager at Kyungbok Middle School. 먹튀검증
On the 10th, Won Tae-in appeared on KBSN sports commentator Kim Tae-kyun's YouTube channel "Kim Tae-kyun [TK52]" and said, "I change my mind when I go to a big game. I said I enjoyed the Korean series and had fun, but I actually can't do that."
He added, "There are so many burdens and responsibilities that I try to focus on the bigger games. There are so many fans, so adrenaline rushes out, and I throw better than usual."
Won Tae-in thanked his father, former coach Won Min-gu, for being a strong pitcher for big games.
Former coach Won Min-gu played third baseman at Daegun High School, Yeungnam University, and Jeil Bank, and was nominated by his team Samsung in his early professional days, but he retired after sticking to an amateur and entered the leadership after working as a banker.
"When I was in middle school, I shed tears. When I was in the 2nd grade, my father intentionally let go whenever there was a runner on the floor, including the bases loaded with no outs. What's more, he didn't sign a breaking ball, but just gave me a fastball sign to get hit. If I get hit (homer or hit) after throwing a fastball, my father will scold me," he said.
Won Tae-in, who did not understand his father's deep meaning at the time, confessed, "I was so upset that one time I complained to my father, 'If I threw a slider in that situation, I could have finished with a strikeout, but why do you keep making me throw fastballs?'"
"Since then, my father let me go to a more difficult situation. It was so much fun to start blocking it once or twice. Having such an experience as a child helps me now," he said.
Every day when Won takes the mound as the starting pitcher, Won Min-goo climbs on the Godbawi Rock in Palgongsan Mountain in Daegu. Every time he takes the mound as the starting pitcher in the first division from the first year after his debut, he always stands on the Godbawi Rock to pray for his son's victory.
"Tae-in is doing well after visiting Godbawi. It's hard to climb the mountain late at night, but I'm happy that your children are doing well. Isn't this the belief of father and child?" he said with a smile.
Won Tae-in was able to become the best starting pitcher in Korea thanks to the strict teaching and dedication of his father, former coach Won Min-gu.
